Unlike a Color Bred or a Type Bred Canary, the Song Canary is bred almost exclusively for its' song. There are several internationally recognized Song Canary breeds, they include the German Roller Canary, the Belgium Waterslager, the Russian Singer and the Spanish Timbrado.
Each of these Song Canary breeds sing a distinctive song and they all strive to achieve a balance between Song Quality and Song Variety. All of the Song Canary breeds mention here have a well-defined Song Standard, which includes identifiable song passages and a definition as to how each passage should be song.
